Default 99 Spec tails, Converting?

So i was wondering what everyone thinks is the best way to convert the square lights to round? I know there are several tricks to the fb/fc lights to do modernization upgrades, but what is the safest way without harming the old brittle plastic housings or lens?

I also do the conversion for pretty cheap. I've done at least 150 sets over the years.
