SO, SO True!! about 10 years ago i used to be ok with buying off-brand or "good enough" products. Now, after tens of thousands of dollars wasted (i'm a slow learner, lmao) I only buy new or top shelf for my specific application. very rarely do i buy used, if it can be avoided.

The car ECU thing is a classic. People go 'fuck man' you have a mega buck ECU.......... but forget that extreme example for a second, you look in my ECU thread for example of units that only cost ~$4500 Life Racing F88 (for example). You buy *one* unit and it does everything. Data Logger AFR Measure Boost Control Engine Gearbox Traction Control Ignition System You go add up all of that shit + ghetto enable codes LOL (some shit brands) and even wehn buying ghetto, you get to the price of top shelf, only difference is you still have a turd of a system all interconnected with scotch locks and cable ties LOL. Sometimes (and this comes with age) you just need to take a step back and think, and spend the ca$h once and you do end up with much better solutions and better value long term. Sure high quality costs initially, but ironically it is cheaper long term, and a fuck load better all the way through
