I cleaned all the parts of oil/coolant/carbon before coating them.
The block has coolant dripping down it due to that line being undone. After I hook it all back up I'm going to spray it down with some carb clean/degreaser. I felt in as far as I could and using a light w/ mirror to verify the sand situation... it doesn't appear that any made it past the entrance of the sleeves. Now, that doesn't speak for the main ports that have no sleeves, its possible some got sucked through there. The car runs fine though besides the port being stuck, so I'm not too worried. If the car doesnt sell because somebody is worried about the engine, its not the end of the world. I'll store it til next summer and do a rebuild then... |

Finally finished it up. I had to take the LIM off a few times because I kept forgetting little lines, etc. Luckily mazda kept most of the same gaskets, etc on this engine as the later NA 13Bs, so I had more than enough stuff laying around and it made the job nice.
I was running low on time towards the end, so there is still some things I'd like to clean more, but really it doesn't matter if its being sold... I just hate not having something look as good as possible! Anyway... she's done. Tomorrow I will fire it up and see what happens. Last edited by WE3RX7; 02-04-2009 at 11:49 PM. |
