Welcome Merkrotary. Use the search function to find threads dealing with your question and download the Factory Service Manual (if you haven't already). here: http://wright-here.net/cars/rx7/manuals.html

If you need more help you can always start a thread in the 1st Gen technical section where more people will see it. Need the info you give to be as complete as possible. Symptoms, modifications, what you've already tried, etc. It's always hard to diagnose something over the internet, so don't expect miracles. Everyone will try their best to help you out.

It sounds to me like your vacuum advance isn't working right. Good place to start is to make sure all your vacuum lines are tight and you have no leaks anywhere. Rotaries don't like vacuum leaks, not much of any engine does.
