Exclamation RX7 Seat/Rim question!

Will the RX8 Recaro seats REALLY fit into the FD?
Also, would there be a problem fitting stock RX8 rims/tires on an FD?
(Other than possibly looking hideous)

Thank you for any and all input!

the Vacuum line, to my MAP became detached while I was legally drifting.
my engine would not rev past 2500, and idled from 300-650 and was stalling.
Fortunately, I acquired a Zip-Tie.
I fixed a catastrophic engine failure, With a Zip-Tie.

Not sure if the seats will fit or not, but I'd bet you'd have a really hard time trying to find some for sale anyway, and especially for a good price. Considering the R3 is still brand new and I doubt any have been totalled. That would be cool if they did fit, but they'll probably be just as expensive as the Recaro Spirit R seats anyway.

I've seen RX-8 wheels on an FD, looks like they fit just fine. Whether they're hideous or not is in the eye of the beholder.

They don't look so bad, I guess.

They fit a 225/45/R18 tire, right?
I wonder if they would need any spacers, or if they are DBO??

Also, where I live, there are LOADS of RX-8's, and not many people know how to drive,
or respect them.
So, there's always a few kicking around the junkyard.

Cheers.

Stock FD wheel is 16" x 8.0", +50.
Stock RX-8 wheel is 18" x 8.0", +50.
Rim width and offset are identical.
The only difference is the wheel diameter.
These wheels should interchange as long as you keep the tire size appropriate.

just searched the other forum, and apparently the RX8 seats CAN fit,
but, modification of the rail has to be done,
I am not sure what that means, so, if anyone has any knowledge,
please let me know.

You can me any seat fit as long you're willing to put the time, money, and effort into it.
I am not aware of anyone offering anything pre-fab, so you need to make the effort to do the custom work to make them fit.

Funny, after reading this thread, I seen a 2008 ish jeep patriot rolling on stock 8 rims... Lol

I do have another picture of a Australian Time attack (local hobbiest car I believe) FD with a 787 themed paint job on painted 8 wheels...

Plus one of two pictures of Phil's silver MS FD when he put the new gen RX-8 wheels on it (the ones with little rotors in the design) other then the high offset, did not look to bad...

But I still think 17's fit the FD best...

Plus tires are hella cheaper in 17....

The stock 8 wheels will fit an FD, I know of a guy in NJ with a red veilside FD that runs stock 8 rims you may also see the car at KDR/Speed1 (I believe the car is still there)
