It's probably going to be much easier to just use the Chevy bell and get an adapter to bolt the full Glide trans to the engine. E&J (http://www.eastcoastparts.com) has the Chevy/rotary adapter.

You could adapt the Mazda bell to the Glide, but you'll need either a cut down Glide case or an aftermarket case from JW, Reid, etc. The big issue is going to be the length of the Mazda bell being correct for the input shaft of the trans. I've thought this swap through a bunch and what I always thought would work best would be using all Chevy parts; flexplate, converter, starter, etc. It would cut down on the custom nature of things a ton and makes replacement parts much easier to come buy and less expensive. Need a new converter in a pinch? Just order anything that fits a SBC.

Give Edgar at E&J a call or email him. He's a great guy and will help point you in the right direction.

Another resource would be Lowe Performance. http://loweperformance.com/ Mike Lowe is a rotary guy from way back. Had a lot of success with the PG when a lot of the guys on this board were still in diapers.
