Electrical problem: Dash & running lights stay on
After I disassembled and reassembled the dash and interior, my dash lights and running lights stay on with the ignition. No matter if the light switch is off.
I also removed an aftermarket alarm system while I was tearing things apart. So I had to splice some wires back together around the ignition switch. I suppose that sounds like a good place to start looking. Ideas, comments? |

They are either getting power when they are not supposed to or are grounded out when they are not supposed to. Its hard to say what would have happened, but you probably just have a wire hooked up incorrectly.
Was the switch working fine before? Does your dimmer switch do anything? |

Yes the light switch worked before. The dimmer switch works as well.
I also remember, I think I hooked up the cigarette lighter socket. Maybe those were the wrong wires. |

Alright, whatever it is that plugs into the blank spot on the back of the storage pocket.... Which I guess actually goes to something on the higher trim levels. Anyway, I unplugged that and the lights went off. I'm not sure why there is a spot to plug in a connection that doesn't go to anything except to piss me off.
