Exciting news for rx7 & 8 owners , we have decided to offer a warranty on motors. After 14yrs of building motors this is something I'm proud to offer you as customers. Here are the details of the warranty
$499.00 down and $69.00 a month or 1 year payment of $1327.00 will cover the motor for 1 yr unlimited miles. Keep in mind the average cost of a motor rebuilt plus labor is around $4500-$5000 After the first yr the coverage will just be $69 a month, which is $828 a yr. This warranty will cover all internal parts of the motor, plus labor to remove and install motor to orginal removal. With the warranty we will also tune the car for free for the 1st yr of warranty, we will have a team of are top mechanic traveling the country to inspect the cars and make recommendation on other options, modifications and upgrades to make sure everything is working correctly. The goal is to make this cars reliable as possible and take the worry out of the customers of worrying in the motor will blow. The warranty does not cover turbos and other external parts of the motor. Warranty does not cover shipping of motor or car to are shop. I will post more details of the warranty later, let me know what you guys think about it. |

I think that is insanely expensive. Given that if built and installed and tuned correctly you should at least get 2 years out of it. I know that given the price of an FC over there any fc owner would be insane to purchase it. That is more a year then most car insurances, that cover a whole car.
No offense ment by what I said, just giving my honest opinion. I myself would never consider that an option. At least the first year should be free if the engine is installed and tuned by you. Last edited by Mazdabater; 10-15-2011 at 12:35 AM.. |

Really! This is not that expensive, I've built and install these motor for 14yrs, the average cost to build a motor with labor is $4000-$5000 plus and that doesn't cover a rotor housing or rotor and etc. Yes the first yr is about $1327, but the cost for the next yr is $878, which is a lot cheaper for the consumer. What's so good about 2 yrs I want these motor to last 5yrs plus, this warranty comes with a lot of customer service that will insure the motor last a long time.

As I said that's just my opinion. I wouldn't go to a shop I didn't trust was going to build my motor properly. Rx7 owners are generally hard to part with their money. Besides for an example if I was paying that money and the car dumped a seal through my turbo I'd be mega pissed it wasn't covered.

I see you haven't been in the rx7 world that long, their is not one shop that covers rotors, housing, e-shaft and etc when a motor goes. Rotary shops usually covers and engine that was only built incorrectly, they don't cover apex seals that are broken from improper tuning or lack of oil in the motor. Trust me I know I've been doing this for 14yrs

No shop should cover improper tuning (unless they tuned it) or lack of oil, my cars on it's third rebuild in 5 years so in my case your insurance would have been a good idea however I still wouldnt have purchased it for that price.

And that's the reason why you have spent $10,000-$15,000 or more on rebuilts. Like i said Ive built motors for 14yrs and have seen it all. If I had own the shop for 11yrs ago this warranty might have been out there. Now that i own my shop now, I'm going to make this the best rotary shop in the country. No one has ever thought of this and would not do it, so technical you could have save your self $14,970 with the 3 motors you built. Also you really think $868 a year is to much money to cover a motor completely, then tell me what you think is a fair price.
