Needing a new tow rig.

my headlights have gone crazy and I don't think its the security system (cpu2)?
so just as stated my headlights have gone crazy like the security system is going off but no beeping horn just headlights up and down out of sync. it happened on day on my way to work but now its kind of constant.
if i turn the headlights on it stops but only with headlights on and up. if i use the flip lights up button it still does it. after i turn the headlights off about 10-15sec it starts doing it again. this happens running or not. I searched and found some had issues with the CPU2 security features going ape on em. i disconnected the 20 pin and 8 pin from cpu2 and no change still does it. that and its only the headlight rotators going makes me think its elsewhere. but i havent found any threads on this particular issue. Im starting to think the headlight relay? in the front harness is effed as when i installed my custom int/rad setup i inverted that relay box to get the room i wanted could this be the issue? maybe got a little water in there or something? any thoughts z |

Mine has done something similar on two previous occasions. But I don't recall it being related at all to whether the lights were on...or not.
As I said, it's only happened a couple of times. IIRC, both times it was rainy or pretty humid out and I hit a bumpy section of road. They'd start going up randomly, with no switching having taken place at all. I saw some speculation that it could be a limit switch on the headlight motor assembly but I never investigated further. It's been a while since the last incident and I don't remember what I did to finally stop it. I think I just disconnected the battery, it stopped and when I reconnected all was well. Sorry, I realize that's not much help, but at least your question is bumped back to the top.
