Perhaps, but that's how it was designed. I'll let the people who design these for a living be the judge of what is the best option. I understand about compromises but I don't think many were made when this was designed. The whole chassis is made from aluminum tubing, panels or solid billet. I've also made a few modifications here and there. It is plenty light and stiff, believe me. Goal is less than 2400 pounds wet with a/c, sound deadening etc. accompanied by 800 hp. In other words, better than 3hp/lb in street trim.

The car will be street legal and SCCA/NASA compliant. I'm building it the way I want while not being constrained by any class regulations. I will drive it on the streets and probably only time trial the car so it will either be in an Unlimited or Race class. The more time and money I put into it, the more I doubt I'll do any head-to-head racing with it but you never know.

I seriously love this so much. The thought of a car built for pure speed with none of the compromises required for a 'street car' really tickles me in a special way .

EDIT: Whoa, I just checked out their site and they're actually pretty close to where I live. I might have to go bother them someday .
