Hey everyone. I got my stock 87 GXL when I was 16 and have been daily driving it for the last 5 years. Although its not too stock anymore, its still slow as heck. When this engine pops, in comes the turbo swap.

About a year and a half ago my dad and I bought an identical 87 GXL for my brother for when he turns 16 this November. We've been fixing it up and its now ready to be his daily driver when he finally gets his license.

I don't have any recent pictures of my car but when I do I'll post those up too. If I violate any rules in this post, please inform me so I won't do it again.

Very since S4!! You definitely have a cool dad.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE PINEAPPLE SLEEVES...make sure they're secured with the locktite and just scratch the hell out of the intake sleeve backs and the actual inserts.

Sleeves were installed by my friend years before i bought the car from him so I assume the age of the motor (200K miles) might have had a role in it but just make sure the sleeves are secure. I assume this is the reason I lost the motor... Just a heads up. You don't want this to happen:

^ Thanks guys. I actually bought them pre-installed in port sleeves by a guy who knows what hes doing, so I should be ok.

I'll try to get newer pictures today of my car lowered and with the new tail lights.

Also, I'm always on the lookout for mint condition, 10/10 unmodified, factory spec series 4 tail lights. I'll pay double for Euro tails.

More info I forgot to include: My brother's FC was bought with 51,000 miles, everything is all original and its going to be the restoration project in 10 years, whereas mine is going to be the build up project after college. My parents bought my car off the lot near San Francisco back in November of 1986. Originally the weekend car, my mom started daily driving it to work and thats how it got so many miles on the chassis. I've taken it from 124,000 when I first got it to 183,000 miles since getting my driver's license in July of 2005.

dude, atkins I think sells fully machined sleeves so you never have to worry about that.... they are a drop in replacement.

Nice cars, welcome to the site!
