Wow, I'd never even seen the r spec before. That's the best looking vented hood i've ever seen. Please make one!

Oops, maybe I was mistaken. I thought the hood in these pics was the R-Spec. Which hood is this one??

Well, I got my 2nd MS hood painted.

But the fabricator is taking some time with first piece I gave him.. Until I get my first piece back, MS hood is on a hold until I could check out the first piece I'm replicating... which is MS CF front lip.

I'll keep you guys updated... one good thing is we now have a MS hood that could be used as a mold in house

One thing I remember reading about the real MS hood was that it didn't absolutely require hood pins. If that were also the case w/ the replica (presumably a quality of construction issue), that would be fabulous.

You are correct ptrhahn! Mazda had a TSB regarding latch point coming off the hood and popping open. I've talked to my fabricator about this before and he said that would not be an issue.. The real MS hoods are super light! I have to say the lightest hood I've lifted so far.. I don't think the repica will be this light.

CF Hood

I'm interested in the MS hood in CF. Need to ensure that the latch TSB was addressed and no hood pins. Keep us informed of where this is at please. Thanks

Fitment looks decent, but I don't see the windshield-washer nozzles mounted on the hood pictured above from April.

I wouldn't want them.

Still interested in this Phil, would be able to send a deposit whenever for the MS hood in your pic above.

Love the color BTW

Well, As of now, there is no plans for making this hood... as the fabricator is bit busy with other work. But I will let you know otherwise.... Sorry guys!

I've got a replica Mazdaspeed hood for sale in the classified (3rd gen) section in case anyone is interested. They are nice looking hoods, but I wanted to go as stock as possible.
