tranny tunnel differences AT/MT?
is there any differences in the transmission tunnels between the 5spd and AT?
-sidenote: I was originally under the impression that ALL GSL's had the following: 5spd, Disc's all-around and LSD...I've recently come across 2 that have AT, GRRRRR!!! WTF?! Last edited by Phoenix7; 05-28-2010 at 04:25 AM. Reason: cleaned up title for relevance |

the shells r all made the same regardless of the tranny installed from the factory. the tranny mount itself may be different tho. so u'll need the mount for a manual if ur doing an auto to manual swap.

The trans tunnel itself is the same I believe but the mounts are located further back on the auto cars I think I read somewhere up to 83 was an easy swap but I know on 84/85 when equipped with the 4 spd auto the mounts are back about 5" from the manual trans mount I swapped in a TII trans. and made a plate to span the mount to the crossmember but I need to remake mine due to the twisting of the crossmember at the body mounts.

GSLs were available in auto. Only GSL-SEs weren't.
