Differece between jspec & usspec fd3s tranny
Is there any diffrence between the jspec tranny and usspec in the 3 gen? It looks like just the 5th gear ratio is different. Is there anything else? case, mounting bolts gearing? thanks Justin

I don't think all of them have a different 5th gear ratio. I can't think of any subtle differences but it will bolt up and install just fine

My JDM tranny definitely has a different 5th gear than the USDM. I tested it about 4.5 years ago when I put it in...I don't remember what speed I tested at or the RPMs, but I do remember at the same speed and in 5th gear the JDM tranny was about 500 RPMs higher than the USDM.
Other than that I didn't notice any differences. Same electrical connections, bolts up exactly the same... |

only difference should be the fifth gear.
