Default Decal Question

i hope this belongs here. Anyways I have painted my calipers blue and ordered some silver decals from Xenonmods.com I plan to put the word RX-8 on my calipers I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to put them on and make sure they don't fall off.

Honestly, there really isn't a good way to apply those. The decals are a plastic, the heat alone from the brakes will destroy them. Here's the best way to do this...

Prep and paint the caliper whatever contrast color your want, then let that cure, then apply the decals you want and paint the caliper again with a different color and let that dry, then pull off the decals and now you would be good to go. It's like using the decal as a stencil.

another friend of mine had suggested sticking them on and using high temp clear coat over them *shrugs*

I had decals in my calipers, I painted the calipers, applied the decals and clear coated everything (high temp clear coat in a can)

They holded for several years

I used krylon

Not a problem. After several years it turned yellow and started to peel off like skin

9 days late... did ya do it already? if so how'd it turn out?

if not... you could make a stencil using the decals and paint the letters on that way...

what did you use to paint them in the first place... i'm about to re-paint mine and wanna try something else...
