Just got my car deflooded..

Now I understand about why some HATE 8's!! Yikes! It took me 2 hours to deflood..

I finally did it by replacing the sparks and doing the FUEL PUMP FUSE thing.. Its not the BIG BLUE Fuse that says, "FUEL". Its the Tiny 20A (yellow) FUEL PUMP Fuse..

After having my wife's MX5 jumped to the 8, I was finally got the 8 Started.. I would NEVER shut this FUCKING car down when its COLD! I even rev'd it up before shutting down and did this..

Did it flood on its own at operating temp or did you do a start/stop and even with the rev it was still "cold"?

That's just a wives tale...if anything that's probably what caused the flood. The '04s did have a problem with "warm" flooding...it happened to me after a very spirited run on some back country roads once. But if I were you I'd take it in to the dealership and make sure all the flashes have been installed. There is a flash out there that helps against flooding. My car has yet to flood since I got that flash and I've tried to flood it! HAHA!

I did the start stop.. ran the car for about 2 mins.. then I shut it off by 7K RPM and shut down.. Next day, didn't start (this morning).

Here are what the sparks look like..

I guess I'll head over to Trussville Mazda and see if they could flash my car before DGRR...

Holy cow. Not as simple as the older rotaries is it.

I do like the nifty 'De-Carbon Kit'. Thats pretty convenient, if not about 30 years too late!!

Good info Phil!!
