Back Home - Engine Reinstall.
Hello All, I am back home after two gigs that took me away from home - and the engine reinstall for two years.
For anyone who is on the east coast and never been west, I HIGHLY reccommend that you go to the seattle-vancouver BC area. It is beautiful and the woman are sweet. When I'd last left the engine, it was sitting nicely in the compartment. Transmission attached and mounts in place. Other than that, there are no accessories, manifolds, or anything else attached. Before I start struggling to get it all back together using my memories, pictures I'd taken, the Haynes book, and the downloaded repair manual, I tought I'd post to see if there is a definitive reassembly manual sitting around anywhere. I'd really like to get it back together before I have to travel again. Thanks.

Thanks,
And, yes I know about the FSM, that is why I listed it. I was just looking to see if there was a list that said 1 through 30, install this, install that. Most manuals list the systems that have to be removed/replaced, but do not list the optimium order in which to do it without having to read text and connect the dots. I'll try to make a list as I put it together.

The FSM is very well detailed (in my opinion) regarding engine removal/installation.
I would recommend burning a disk with the install/removal sections on it, then take that to your local library and print everything out. It is sooo much easier to look at it on paper when you are hovering above your engine wondering what the hell this rubber hose goes to. -Pat

The Mazda manual is about the best you can have. The disassembly assembly sequence 1-30 is listed very well at the beginning of each section. I haven't seen a factory manual from any other manufacturer that is as good as Mazda's. Although if one has been using them since 72 they maybe prejudiced.
If you do not have the printed version, definitely print out the sections you need it will make it easier. |

Im on my second fsm, i now have 1 and a half fsm's. real ones to, not printed or disc. I lost half of the first one to my great dane puppy. Rule of thumb with great danes, if you can reach it without a step stool, so can he........ Anything from the top of the fridge down is in his domain.
