Melting my LIM???

Not particularly

It's not installed here, but I've got a LIM blanket, plus my LIM is ceramic coated. Even without the Blanket though, there is a decent gap between the hotside and the LIM. It's not massive by any means, but it's enough to have regular airflow between the two surfaces.
