Rotary Fan in Training

Hello
Hello.
A little history of me and RX7. I have owner an FB and an FC both of which i dropped 302s into. I just acquired a free FB with a blown 12a and plan to keep it rotary. While searching for some info I stumbled across this site and you all seem to be pretty knowledgeable, and more good natured than other sites I have seen. I rally signed up to ask a simple question then create a build thread when i get started,. My simple question is this(I can ask it in the engine tech section if it would be better): Is there any way to tell what kind of port an engine has without taking it apart? I was talking to a friend of mine who parts out cars and he has what was described to him as a "ported" 12a, but does not have any more info than that from the original owner. He is giving me a good deal on it due to the risk of a crappy porting job or other issues. As long as this thing seems sound from an initial inspection and compression test I plan to pick it up, but it would be nice to know what kind of port i am tuning my carb for. |
