New Wilwood Big Brake Kit- Is there any interest in this?
Hi,
Over the last few months I have been looking for a big brake kit but was not able to find anything good, new or used, for under $1600. I've been looking into putting a kit together using Wilwood components and was wondering if there would be any sort of interest in a kit like this. It would consist of 4 piston calipers, 332x32mm two piece rotors, street pads, SS lines, and 2 stainless steel mounting brackets. Brake bias would remain within 2% of the stock system which for those of you that track the car know is key. The kit would be track tested before sale. It would be several months before it was ready to sell to the public, for now I am trying to determine if the is a market for such a kit that will hopefully be priced at or below $1500 (hoping below). So, would anyone be interested in purchasing a kit like this or have any ideas or comments about it? Thanks Ryan |

I weighed a Brembo 328x32 Nascar rotor (not the same manufacturer but similar) which is heavy duty and weighs in at 16lbs plus the hat weighs next to nothing. Plus a 6.5lbs caliper including the bracket brings the total to 22.5lbs. I had found some numbers on the stock brakes (correct me if I am wrong) which weigh 21lbs. So I would say at most there would 1.5-2.5lbs heavier per corner. I'm going to make the kit fit 17in wheels though I may try to see if I can sneak it behind the stock 16in wheels. |

How about using DBA rotors?
I just got a pair of 330x32 DBA kangaroo paw rotors and going to get some hats made... by the way, anyone make rotor hats cheap?
