Whatever is cheapest of the name brands minus the generic crap like the WalMart house brand...
Right now that's Pennzoil from KMart @ $22 / gallon.
With the prices all over $5 / quart, it's getting expensive!
I used to love the good 'ole days when this stuff was under $3 / quart.

I was using Valvoline Multi-Use exclusively, until it started to climb over $6 / quart.
We've used Castro too with good results.
As long as it has the TC-W3 rating, it's good to go.
Yeah, the viscosity is a little different between the brands, but our teardowns show good wear.
We've run race motors (NA) with mostly Valvoline Multi-Use upping the ratio to 50:1 - 75:1 with good teardowns.

I normally just add half a quart (16 oz.) to a fill-up - 1987 Turbo II - which normally comes out to about 12 - 13 gallons, and the ratio comes out to right about 100:1.
For S5's with the bigger fuel tanks, if you do this, the ratio comes to just about 120:1 - 130:1.

I've been using what ever is available at wallmart, mostly penzoil 16oz bottles. Those are easy to carry around (while they are sealed), and I normally do a full penzoil bottle to a full tank which like Ted said its comething like 125:1 (I just avg the numbers)

Klotz here as well. Use it for anything that requires pre-mix.

What about using an adapter on the omp, what type of oil would you recommend?
