51ida going alchohol...
I have a set of 51ida Webers on my streetported 12a right now. I'm running regular 93 octane fuel in it. But very soon I will be doing an all motor peripheral 12a and switching to an alchohol based fuel. As far as I know, nothing really has to be done to the Webers themselfs when switching to alchohol or E85 besides fuel pump/lines/filter. True of false? Which is all getting swapped out anyway to handle the PP.
My question is really about running the 1st gen dizzy and where to get started on timing. Just advance it until it idles smooth and tune it from there? Don't really have a clue here... Thanks in advance.

i would start off 20L 10T....e85 and alcohol will corroded your carb if lift in it.you need to run pump gas in to it when finish running at the track....http://www.racingbeat.com/manuals/timingchart.pdf.

nevermind the timing, what about fuel??!! when you switch from gas to alcohol you burn double the fuel, so lets say your running a 240 main fuel jet on your p-port on gas. you switch to alcohol, you now need at least a 400 main jet(on the small side). the carb you have with the main jets removed wont flow more than 280..

I just wanted to comment about your name. Are you going to keep changing it as you make more power?

without knowing anything else, unless you can drill your jets out to double what you have, then ... refer to what Robert said.

if your going to be all motor c16 is the worst choice. its real high octane with a low specific gravity so it burns real slow. good for a turbo car but horrible for a n/a application. you can always make more power with low octane fast burning fuel. with lots of timing and 112 octane you will make the most power.
