Dgrr 2011

So, when do we start discussing this...:driving:
Tis the season to start planning I thinks!

djmtsu 09-29-2010 08:12 AM

It seems Phil usually starts to give out info in October or November.

Sadly, I once again will be rotorless at DGRR. But I plan to bring the Mazda 6 Party Wagon Rotary Support Vehicle.

I can't wait, and am crossing my fingers for Fontana Village. This past DGRR, Nantahalla pissed me off more than a few times.

Buggy 09-29-2010 09:58 AM

That's too bad to hear, I quite enjoyed Nantahalla. Although I'm sure Fontana is probably just as nice. I'm also looking forward to DGRR 2011 as I should actually be able to take the Rx-4 instead of my slow old NA FC. I'll hopefully have my brake/suspension swap done as well so it might stop and handle too!

Herblenny 09-29-2010 02:46 PM

I'm on it :)

Here are the info I could give....

I'm in conversation with NVNC to see if we could work something out so that we'll have a better parking at the location. I had a conversation with them this past April and we are currently talking about possible solutions. If that's a go, then we will be having at at NVNC.

Regarding NVNC, I want to give them credit as the owner went beyond his duties to open up the US129/Dragon... and mainly for us so he wouldn't loose business. That's far beyond what Fontana would of done... Fontana Village would of kept your reservation fee if dragon was closed and they wouldn't of done anything... Only thing I like about Fontana is that its closer to the Dragon.. but besides that, I don't really care to deal with them... only if the event gets too big to be held at NVNC..

Anyhow, I'm also trying to determine a date... as I have several trips I need to make in April. I will keep you updated and let you know...

I'm trying to recall who it was that gave me shit for not having a rotary 2 years ago... ;)

I'll be drooling over your car if you do bring the RX4. I've been wanting a '74 pretty bad, I just can't afford it right now.

I'm game for where ever. I barely made it down the cabin road this year... next year, there's not a chance. My front end scrapes everything.

Hey! :leaving:

I was actually referring to the friggin 1.5 hours we were at dinner because the server apparently forgot we were still there.

I am still waiting on that Dr. Pepper refill dammit.

TitaniumTT 09-29-2010 09:27 PM

I love you Phil, and I'm excited all ready. I may just leave the FC with you and Jenn in NOV so I CAN'T take it apart again this winter ;)

I'm still on that task.... I'll be in touch soon

DGRR is the highlight of my auto-mobile year..... I semi erect right now!

VR8 09-30-2010 12:33 PM

We've got a small group going over to Fontana next weekend. So far they've been quite hospitable for our piss poor turnout. I'll let you know if they have anything new going on. I know they added a pool area a couple of years ago. I didn't get my feet wet last fall, twas too cold, but it might work for the spring.

Herblenny 10-01-2010 08:00 AM

Brian, I'm going to PM you in a second..

VR8, Nothing against you guys, but when I tell them 300+ and trying to work out a schedule, get a conference/banquet room, they are far less willing to work out. But who knows, if NVNC fails, then I don't have much choice....

I'm excited as hell for this! I just recently got my first rotary and since then I've been waiting for the next DGRR. I'm 90% sure I will be there with a few friends. Glad to hear it's in the works!

daleclark 10-02-2010 09:14 AM

I'll be first in line for tickets :). Hopefully I'll be dragging a lot more of the Pensacola crew out with me, you're a DAMN FOOL if you have an RX-7 and don't go!

Dale

estevan62274 10-03-2010 07:58 PM

Unless it's broken and your vacation pay goes towards fixing it. Hence my absence last year. Hopefully I'll get the fubar'd strut situation fixed before April. I'm jonesin' for those 318 beautiful turns.

rx8jake 10-03-2010 10:43 PM

Anyone know the date yet? Im really interested in attending the event

Doc-1 10-03-2010 10:50 PM

I am ready......for 2011 Dragon

Herblenny 10-04-2010 12:40 PM

Dates...

I'm currently deciding on the date.. pending some personal/business trip.

I will be shooting for either First part of April (4/8 - 4/10) OR April 22nd - April 24th...

I will let you know once I get things situated... I'm also shooting for registration to start Beginning of Dec... This year, registration will require bit more confirming... Also, much different in term of what this event will represent :)

More info coming....

2gslse 10-04-2010 02:40 PM

Phil, I'm in whenever DGRRXI is. cant wait but don't know what I'll drive yet if all goes well I will have to decide between my FD,FB, or RX-8

TitaniumTT 10-04-2010 04:36 PM

Show off ;)

2gslse 10-04-2010 08:25 PM

I don't want to hear any excuses from you this year we were like motel 6 and left a light on for ya. :)

TitaniumTT 10-04-2010 09:36 PM

I know I know I still feel like a douche about that. you guys do rock. I'm thinking about storing the FC with someone down closer to the dragon during my rd trip so I can't take it apart again

rx8jake 10-04-2010 10:58 PM

Thanks man. Im new to the rx series. I used to be real big into off roading and i ended up sinking all my money into it and had to get out of it and into something else lol. So.. i got a rx8 lol

You need to just enjoy the FC as it is now you still have the vert and your FD project to satisfy the urge to create & fabricate.

Ptotherice 10-05-2010 04:47 AM

^ Nice rhyme. d:

WE3RX7 10-05-2010 07:01 PM

B - you can leave the FC at my place. I'll only charge you your motor :)

I'm ready for the event to be here... probably bring the rx8 again unless something happens between now and then in which case it'll be the bone stock FC.

We could just have all of 2gslse's cars down... we can each take one :)

2gslse 10-05-2010 09:31 PM

It would be cool to see the fleet all in motion at the same time. you will have the same issue next year, hell I think these cars are more of an addiction than anything else think about how many of us have 2 or more in various states (running,racing,parts,etc...) I have personally had 2 or more since '97.

TitaniumTT 10-05-2010 09:50 PM

has anyone ever thought there might be something chemically addicting to rotary exhaust? Cuz yeah, I got 3 now....

VR8 10-06-2010 07:12 AM

Addicted here too ... 3 of them. :(

Buggy 10-06-2010 10:11 AM

Ha I think I have you all beat. 3 FC's, Rx-4, and the R100. Do I win?

not yet. currently I have 1 fd,1 rx-8 ,1 cosmo 2 fb's and 3 parts fb's so that 8 total but I kow there are some here that have way more than me.

DAMN! I need to buy more rotaries....

Redshft 10-06-2010 06:27 PM

Can I get extra credit for the number of FCs I could buy for the amount of money I have tied up in single race FC?
(And an RX-8, race FC and parts FC here...) these things are addictive.

TitaniumTT 10-06-2010 07:54 PM

If that's the case then I should get extra points for working on my FC for 46 hours straight

FC3S Murray 10-06-2010 08:39 PM

why oh why do i have to be located on the other end of this damn country from you guys!

Think next year you guys would let a bastardized rx-vette roll with ya?(2012 that is since may is my tune date for the LS1).

TitaniumTT 10-06-2010 09:47 PM

No. You had your chance and you abondoned it

TitaniumTT 10-06-2010 09:47 PM

Ok, maybe... but you have to bring Kyle and buy me a dozen Grey Goose drivers... but I'm still gonna kick your ass when I see you :grouphug:

lol.....well I tell you what, since I have some towing capability now and i might just go redneck and put a hitch on my FC just to piss you off.....I will haul a trailor load of Grey Goose AND Redbull for your angry ass.

Kyle can come I suppose BUT since he works for Budwieser he can bring some goodies too.

and if that doesnt make you smile Brian, I will sit your ass in my car and my Torque curve will.:driving:
