Just making sure before i waste money buying a new one. But my stock TII BOV is staying open at idle obviously causing a vacuum leak. Is there a way to test the BOV or is this an obvious sign its bad?

The stock BOV does not seal totally under vacuum.
That's normal.
Dunno what you're expecting?

since TII's are MAF sensored anything after a MAF should be sealed. I have never noticed air coming out of a stock or aftermarket BOV on any of my TII's.

i wish i had a second stock BOV to check it with...

I've always had stock BOV's leak, period.

Aftermarket BOV's can or cannot leak.
Some are made to vent to atmosphere.
Some are not - the HKS "race" BOV leaks and does not totally seal under vacuum.

well if the stock Turbo bypass valve is leaking to atmosphere, then you dont have it connected properly. It should be diverting back into the Turbo Inlet Duct which is after the MAF and thus, of no concern.

how about the HKS ssqv? It's advertised that it wont leak boost...

thats true. i made my own intake (just a 2.5" pipe) and never added a place for the stock blow off valve to vent into. now that i think about it, this is the first time ive had a stock BOV. Trying to keep the car stock and clean...

so having it vent into the intake tube after the MAF before the turbo should fix it. makes sense. thanks...

And people wonder why cars with stock ECU's and vented to atmosphere BOV's spit flames and run like crap.

Just get rid of the stock crap ecu and buy a standalone and keep the stock bov

^ehhh... done that to every Rx i have ever owned. This one im just driving. Keeping it nice and clean. Plus, this TII feels amazing for what it has.

But the motor came with a Pre-tuned Pan Speed stock ECU. since the ECU was tuned for this motor with a similar intake and exhaust. The tune on it is pretty nice and much better than stoock anyways... its not like buying a pre-tuned ECU on ebay, with whos knows what for some other random motor.
