grease all over inside of rear wheel

Ok, I'm slinging grease all over the place and I'm having a little trouble locating the source. I originally assumed that I lost an outer boot off of a rear axle but I just got the car back from the transmission shop and the axles checked out ok. I crawled under the car in the driveway and from my limited viewing angle the source appears to be a joint located where the red is in this FSM pic. I believe this is the toe cam adjuster but I don't see anything in the FSM about it being packed with grease. Anyone have experience with the rear hub assemblies that can offer some insight?

Take your rear wheels off and get a better look.
I have the same situation, on mine it looks like the grease is coming from the half shafts.
I too want to know what to do about this.

I'm not an FC owner.. But doesn't the shaft boot has grease in it? I say check your boot really carefully.. Small hole could leak the grease out at high speed.

Check the axle shaft boot (CV Boot)

If you don't have time or money to get an axle, put on a Quick Boot. Not ideal, but it will get you through DGRR!!

If the trans shop was right and the boot is OK - look at the rear wheel bearing seal. Its on the back of the hub where the axle slides through, could be worn.

Are you sure it's not brake fluid? Had a leaking bleeder screw that deposited a lot of fluid where your red mark is. It looked alot like oil until I tracked down the source.

BTW, I believe that is the DTSS bushing position adjacent to your red mark.

It's definitely grease, and a fairly good deal of it. I'll probably wind up pulling the whole assembly apart on a weekend or paying someone else to track it down if time becomes an issue. I've got a used axle already as well as the rear wheel bearings and seals if I need them. I was just hoping someone might have an easy answer I guess.

Follow up...

I took it to another shop and they diagnosed the rear wheel bearing as the culprit. I already had them in the back of the car as I suspected this might be the case... I guess I'll know soon enough. I should have the car back today or tomorrow.
