Ok so my buddy recently got an NA s5 rx7 with bad diff bushings. so far I have only been able to find one set --->http://www.dropengineering.com/mazda-rx7-urethane-differential-bushing-kit-uhmw-86-92.html
are these worth it? or is ther another cost effective route?
im kind of a noob when it comes to rx7's.. more of an 8 guy my self. any help would be apreciated!

2nd gen RX7s typically need the front diff mount, it's common to break in half. I would check prior to ordering those.
The yellow one:

Here is a good replacement, and if he don't want to spend that amount then they're still available from Mazda, I imagine DJ could hook you up.

Those diff bushing - also known as the "rear upper" ones - you gotta be careful with.
I've seen those UHMW (plastic) and aluminum (replacements), but this tends to transfer the stress into the "ears" of the diff housing itself.
I've seen the ears of the diff housing crack.
I would not replace the rear upper diff mounts with anything harder than PU (polyurethane), unless you get a diff brace...
Don't ask me where to get PU replacements; I don't know of anyone who is offering them fairly easily.
The only ones I know of are one-off custom made units.
Don't ask me about diff braces either...
I've only seen an FD one that can possible be retrofitted to our FC's...

thanks guys. yea I was wondering why it was so hard to find thos rear upper bushings. I have not seen the car in person and idk how car savey the seller was but he seemed confident thats what it was.. so ill take a look at it. aparently it makes a loud bang at the rear end when shifting. most likley that diff mount youre talking abour zach.

:iagree: Most definitely! I've replaced two already (both 2nd gens I've owned). My first 7 I had in high school I temporarily repaired by drilling a hole through the mount and inserted a large bolt through it, I ran it like this till I had enough money to buy a new mount from Nelson Mazda. Sounds ghetto but it worked :)
