i know it may sound dumb but last night when i was driving, my car just shut off, had a dead battery, pulled the alternator off today, the ground is there but the plug isnt. no the plug is not just dangling somewhere, its seriously no where to be found! and im not sure what to do...

Download the manual for your car. Trace down your wires, they may have broken and fell off?. Extend them if necessay and hook them back up. If the plug is nowhere to be found, once you find the wires, you can probably locate another plug at an auto parts store. It is a fairly common plug, or use female spade connectors as a temporary fix until you can locate the correct plug.

What you got labeled as "Ground" is NOT a ground.
The entire alternator case is a ground.
What you got circled is actually the main power (+) output post.

The other 2-wire plug is for feedback to the alternator (required) and signal wire to the warning cluster.

Was this car running recently?
I believe the plug is going to be black (or was it white?), but looking at the "pins" in the back of the alternator, the configuration is going to to look like a "T".
You're looking on the "engine harness".
I don't think those wires / plug is going to be on that harness...?
It should be on the other harness snaking down the other side of the engine?
The car will not run right without the feedback wire plugged in.
Has the car have charging problems?

the two wires that go to that connector at the back of alternator are blk/wht and wht/blk. a big thick blk wire goes to the charging post and connects to main fuse block. the blk/wht should see 12V with ignition on, wht/blk will turn on the charge warning light when it doesnt see 12V

How long have you had the car? If an emission removel has been done that may explain the cut wires.
