I am not sure if I have a fuel pressure issue with my S4 JDM swap. I want to test it, but I am pretty sure you have to splice a t in for the tester. I was wondering if there was a cost effective way to mount a pressure gauge under the hood that could easily be read for future refence.

You are correct that there isn't a very easy way to tap into the fuel system to monitor fuel pressure for ours cars.
Yes, most people use a "T" somewhere in the fuel lines.
Ideally, you want this closest to your fuel injectors - on a stock FC 13B, this spot is the hose between the primary and secondary fuel rails.

Easiest and cheapest way is to run those mini pressure gauges at this point in the fuel system.
You might have to get creative on it's mounting, especially if you are still running the stock intercooler.
It'll be pretty easy to pop the hood and spot check your fuel pressure at this time.

Side note, stock fuel pressures are baseline ~40psi at no vacuum.
Add 1psi for every 1psi of boost you're running.
Most of us are running under 20psi of boost, so a gauge that reads up to 60psi should be fine.
