I'm looking at picking up an oil filter pedestal for my 6 port turbo build. I need to run a T4 feed line from there to my turbo. The only three I've found thus far are Racing Beat (http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1986-1992/Oil-System/11803.html), Respeed (http://mrcmfg.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=113_53&products_id=71), and the Prosport (http://prosportgauges.com/oil-filter-adaptor-plate.aspx)sandwich. The T4 feed lines I've found run a 1/8NPT which all of the pedestals have. From the cost it seems like the Prosport is the way to go ($35 cheaper) but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these and has a suggestion. I don't mind spending the extra money if it's worth it, but if the Prosport will work just fine then it seems like a good choice.

I don't have experience with any of these brands, but am using one made by the old FC3S.org store that is basically a clone of the RB & RESPEED designs. I'm using it for oil pressure & temp gauges only, and it works well. These designs, replace the stock filter pedestal completely. Since the Prosport design does not replace the stock pedestal, and just screws down on top of it like a regular filter, I see a couple of potential issues to consider:

1. On the Prosport, your filter will sit up a bit taller than the others, which may create an interference issue for you - especially at oil change time. To figure worst case, add the thickness of the Prosport adapter to the top of your filter, and take a look to see if it will get in the way of anything. Take into consideration the room needed to R&R the filter in practice.

2. Since the Prosport screws on just like a filter, it is possible that the ports won't be lined up exactly where you need them to be when the Prosport adapter bottoms out & seals up to the stock pedestal. Only way you'll be able to find out for certain is by test fitting it.

I have the RE-Speed Version 2. I haven't installed it yet, but it is a VERY nice piece!

Does it come with a block for the unused port?

Negative. But you can pick that up for a few cents at any parts store.

I've used a couple RB pedestals with no issues. I've used one Prosport and it leaked. The universal nature of the Prosport looks to cause less than ideal contact with the o-ring that seals it to the stock oil filter pedestal.

I've got the Prosport one. I had problems with leaking and fitment at first.

The fitment problem was the side port bolts that block off the ports. The side one towards the front of the engine was making contact with my fuel line clamp. So as I tightened the adapter down it wanted to spin a little and was pushing my clamp for the fuel line off the hose.

I ended up having to turn the adapter so that the two front ports were facing towards the transmission.

The leaking I hear is pretty common. It took me a few times of taking it off and putting it on to get a none leaking adapter.

Sounds like RB or Respeed is the way to go.

the fuel line idea is OK, but sort of unnecessary...
I do like some of their other products though... I'm thinking of getting the IAC piece and maybe the TB adapter.

I got the re-speed one on the truck if you want to take a look at it. I also have one that came off of deathtrap that u can look at. I think it might be the RB one.

U know where I am.
