Default s5 TII vert stock block/turbo 242.6whp and 250ftlb tq

Didn't see a "dyno" section so I'll just post it here

A little on the car

Autox vids - http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...ad.php?t=14841
Semi-build thread - http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_foru...ad.php?t=14571

Engine info:
Stock block s5 t2 jspec
stock s5 turbo (wastegate is not ported to my knowledge)
Haltech Sprint RE
Injector Dynamics ID1000 x4
Denso aftermarket Supra/FD pump
Parallel setup with Aeromotive FPR and pushlock hose, 42psi base
FMIC
Synchronic BOV
FD alt

I found some time on the dyno at Bean's Diesel Performance in Woodbury, TN. They use a twin eddy Dyno Dynamics mostly used on big Diesel trucks and what not run by a great guy names Jonathan. They let us basically run our own operation and aside from loading the dyno and messing with graphs just let us do our own thing. I gotta give credit to Jacob Cartmill for most of the tuning (especially on the street). Anyway, we put the car up there and to be honest we didn't really tune very much up top. Afrs looked good/rich and the stock turbo just wasn't going to do much for peak power. Aside from the pulls we mostly played with the transistion with the dyno locked and richening up low rpm boost. We raised the MBC to about 13psi and gained a good bit in the low/mid range. The stock turbo bleeds down to 8psi by 7k... it just can't keep up. Once the turbo started dropping off power leveled off pretty quickly. We raised timing one degree past 4k and 10psi and we only got 1-2 hp so we left it alone. Its still conservative by some standards. I've posted a project file of most of my datalogs if anyone is curious.

Sorry for the crappy vid. Forgot to charge the GoPro and had to use cellphone with bad lighting

One of these is not like the other.

They were real nice guys but it was like another world to them. Their tuner, Jonathan, mainly works with diesels but also does hondas and nissans. They noted how small the turbo was and when we asked them to donate one for the cause they said the only way they'd do it is if it was a compound setup, lol. I'd def take it there again, very relaxed and respectful attitudes.

How small the turbo was. Pfff, it's pretty snazzy when you think it's on a 1.3L engine as opposed to 7L. It's also not about the size...

I'll have to go there someday when I get off my ass and turbo my car. Or just go e85 to see if it makes a difference N/A.

Good information FerociousP. I've often wondered just what a stock block and turbo could do if given the proper supporting and tuning hardware
