Default REPUs

A thread about my repoops.... just kidding, although these were at one time very plentiful in my area they have pretty much dried up. Almost every one you see here has been rescued from a salvage yard most with wicked stories.

Default 1976 repu

This currently is my only 76 REPU I wish I could find the video, it took the cops on a 5 hour chase until the guy broke the idler arm and put it in a ditch.

Default REPU 74 and 75

Here is the batch of 74s ad 75s a few of them have mixed lineage, meaning they are titled as 74s with legal 74 vin numbers but their vin numbers actually make them 75s, well kind of If you go by the information provided by Mazda they were made in model year 75 but are 74s..... Yes it is confusing.

From a salvage yard it is one with mixed lineage

1974 with a FI GSL-SE engine (still has FI unit)

1975 automatic in really poor shape

74-75 Parts truck

74 resto project

74 hot rod project

I really like REPUs. My favorite minitruck from the '70s, and not just because of the rotary. And oddly enough automatics seem to work pretty well in them. Ask Jeff20B about that.

Looking at those makes me want to get mine back on the road. What's stopping me, anyway? Just wheels and tires, I guess. After I get my 7 squared away with a new clutch and exhaust, it'll be time to give it some attention.

Awesome collection. Ive seen pictures of a few from other posts but not the who lot. I always meant to set something up with you to salvage a control arm shaft for my 77 but finally was able to have one shipped to me (time > money ya know).

One more thing I want the mirror off your old 77. I saw one on ebay but it ended up going for >110$ so I passed. Right now my mirrors are (breaking) crappy plastic 80's style..

edit** I would kill to see the REPU/cop chase video!!!! lol!!!

I want the DS mirror off the red 77 truck (you no longer have!!). If you can find another at your place let me know and we'll work something out.
I think they may have also come on some rx3's but Im not really sure. My current plastic mirror is losing tension so the faster I go, the more it folds up - lol! I just dont think any of the other styles would look good on my truck since it doesnt really look like a towing vehicle...

Oooo I'd love to get one (or both sides even better) from you then. A nice used one would be great, Im not really a NOS type guy as I like driving my toys! My battery tray in in good shape but the box is AWOL - I just bungee my battery down. I didnt realize the 77 boxes were different but count me in if you source one and get some remanufactured. I'll send you a PM and we can talk about it further...

thanks! --ERik
