Length of brake lines
Does anybody know the lengths of brake lines on our car? I'm looking to completely redo my brake system with new tubing and am wondering if anybody else had pulled this off.
Cheers. |

I don't remember the length but I do remember that I just took a tailors tape measure and had at it. Called up Classis Tube, gave them the lengths and they cut and flared the ends with the tube nuts already on. They sent it in a coil so I had to straighten it, then bend it to where I wanted it. They can and have in the past completely redone lines in stainless. Meaning if you send them your old lines, they'll jig them and send you a new set. Not sure what the cost is on that.
The other thing to do would be to just buy a coil of the line and have a hydrualic shop flare the ends after you've got it bent where you want it.

I took my measuring tape out and got a rough estimate- it ain't easy to measure the full length of the pipes without removing any of them- and got around 25ft of 3/16" lines. Going to look again tomorrow and see how much 1/4" line I need.
I'm actually going to try the copper-nickel alloy stuff instead of SS. A couple of reputable shops in my area (including a proper race shop) recommended the stuff for its corrosion resistance and easy workability. |
