Default Hood will not release

While at an open track day Sunday my hood latch would not lock down. Using a screwdriver, I managed to get the latch to click manually and then the hood would lock down. Now the cable doesn't do anything and I have no idea on how to release the hood.
Does anyone have a useful tip or experienced this before?

You probably broke the little green plastic thing that holds the latch. Order a new cable. I managed to get my hood popped using a coat hanger to get a hold of the release cable. and tugging on it.

(Oh - sorry for grave digging)

That's exactly what broke. I did the coat hanger trick and now have a "secret" hood release.
