Gauging Interest in Part-Out
I was recently hit by a drunk driver and the insurance company is totaling my seven. They haven't told me yet how much they think it is worth (very low number im assuming) and how much they want for salvage value. So I'd like to get an idea on if it would be better to just part it out and scrap the rest or put in a "fake" motor and let them keep it. Its an 85GS so if you'd like something just post or pm what you'd be interested in (no prices yet) and if enough is wanted ill just salvage it and part it out.
Here is a list of what is new on the vehicle: 3k miles on a 12A with 3rd gen corner seals for better durability Calipers (6k miles) Tie rod ends (about 9k miles) Brake master cylinder (about 6k miles on it) left rear wheel cylinder (less than 100 miles on it) Starter (3k miles) Pitman Arm (0 miles as it hadn't been installed yet) I'd also be interested in selling it "as is" as it does run fine just lots of damage to the rear and the exhaust broke in half somehow. |

how much would u be askin 4 the motor? also if anyway possible an ignitor off the distributor preferably the lead ignitor. Also since you got the newer corner seals, does tht mean u had the motor completely rebuilt or just the seals changed?

motor was completely rebuilt, new apex and corner seals from rotary atkins, all oil rings and gaskets are new as well. I'd prob sell it for $550 including starter, $500 w/out it. Igniters are gold so $35 a piece.

ill have to borrow a compression tester for that. It was built by one of the owners of C&C motors. He has a red REPU and about 4 other rx7s. He gets on here sometimes i think his name on here is REPUCharles. Insurance hasnt gotten back yet but ill post when they do.
