August 2008 Ride of the Month - Mirage (Winner of FD Month)!
Year, model, mods, etc 1993 R1 from the ground up: 18x9, 18x10 Kinesis K58s with A048s M2/AP 6 piston front brakes Koni Yellow Shocks and H&R Springs M2 Trailing arms Racing beat front and rear sway bars Delrin bushings all around (except diff) FTL Engineering Intake/intercooler "shroud" ASP Large Intercooler Mazdacomp radiator Greddy intake elbow stock main cat, PFS cat back M2 ECU I'm probably forgetting some obvious things but thats a good list for now Questions to the owner: Q: Congratulations for winning Ride of the Month! Tell us about how you acquired this car? A: Thank you!! I got this car 2+ years ago when I first moved out to CA. The previous owner was getting an Ariel Atom to be his new track toy and needed the room in his garage. Q: How did you first become interested in modified cars? Have you had any previously? A: I was always into cars and during my teens my friend's older brother got an FD. I started researching everything I could about rotaries and my first car was actually an S4 GXL Q: Whats the biggest reason you chose a rotary powered car to modify? A: I was curious about how they worked. As I found out more stuff I slowly got addicted. I was just fascinated with how radically different they were from traditional piston engines. Q: Is this car your daily driver? Do you participate in any form of racing? (Drag, Auto-X, etc) A: Right now it is haha, normally it's not. I track this car mostly at HPDEs Q: What do you enjoy most about your car? A: The "feel" from the steering wheel. I'm really connected to the road and I know what the car is doing and capable of doing at all times. I love it. Q: Do you have any future plans for the car, or any car? A: I'm pretty sure I want to single turbo this, or another FD Q: Any other hobbies besides cars? A: I'm a tech geek and video gamer. Trying to pick up guitar... Q: Anyone you'd like to thank? A: The forum and everyone for the compliments and votes Normally I do things to my car to make it more enjoyable for me, it's nice to know others appreciate it as well! Additional photos:

From one CYM owner to another, congrats on being chosen. Very nice setup indeed. Damn... now you've screwed up my plans to submit my car once completed. Oh well... by the time I'm done it may be time for another CYM FD.

I feel like a geek, but I just spent a couple of minutes in my head pretending those were pictures of my CYM going around Laguna :0
