Default FS: FD trans brace $100

I decided to make a trans brace before replacing my clutch. I was able to make 2 of them, so I got one for sale. I enough steel to make another one if there is interest. $100 plus shipping

I going to also make my own diff brace and may make more depending on how long it takes to make.

PM if interested. Thanks.

i bought the one he sold... i want to think it did help keep the trans from moving some... but the brace hasn't been on the car for a while now since one of the bolts inside the body are stripped out now...

Sounds like my fears of a solid trans mount are justified if it stripped one of the body mounting bolts?

There needs to be some sort of give to match the engine movement or the body will just end up taking all of the force.

no, i dont contribute the stripping to the brace, the chassis has over 200k on it and who knows how many people messing with the bolts over the years...

It will cause fatigue at some point between(and including) those bolts and the engine itself. Something HAS to flex if the engine moves, strangely enough, since the engine is bolted to the transmission... and the engine moves. Weird concept, eh?

i do agree with you on that one... more bracing does transfer more vibration to the body of the car... and not everything was designed to be ok with those vibrations for prolong periods of time...
