How it all began
In highschool I rocked a super pimpin 99 chevy s-10 extreme and saved for 2 years to be the first kid in school to be riding on 20s(back in 2001 you were doing big things if you were on 20s). After working hard to get those rims about 1 week later my best friend wrecked his 92 cavalier z24 convertible on 16" Primes(BALLIN). He went to a dealership to look at a millenia when the owner's wife rolls up in her 1 owner 93 montego blue fd. He left the lot that day driving the fd
I had never driven anything faster than a mid 90s mustang GT at the time and didnt care about speed, just about rolling big rims Immediately he ordered a downpipe and had it installed along with an intake. He had only owned the car about 1 month before he tossed me the keys for hte first time as we were on the way to our favorite teen dance club one saturday night. We had to jump on I-65 for about 10 miles to go to downtown Nashville and a brand new mustang GT pulled up next to us on the interstate and kept revving up his car. My best friend TJ just said destroy this guy so he will leave us alone. We take off at about 60-70 in 3rd and I took it up to about 140 or so and we had pulled the mustang pretty good. About 1 month later the rims went up for sale, sold my truck and bought a 89 s-10 so I could start saving for my first fd. Took me about 8-9 months to save up about 80% of the price of the fd I bought and I got a loan for the rest. Here we are about 6 years later and I have owned somewhere around 60+ fds and sold countless others for friends and customers. Some days I honestly question if this is the right thing to be doing because I sure am not getting rich doing it, Ive left and passed up several great paying jobs to continue to work for myself and keep working on rx7s. Thru all the trials and tribulations these cars bring with them, it just takes one drive in a properly running fd to remind me of why I do what I do.
