Cool Pacific NW PIR Mini-Meet Recap, new bests for everybody!!

So I do have to start out with dinner. Abe (Black Buick GN), 1MZFE (Red SE FC) from the Evil Forum, and I (Red FB GSL) showed up.

On the way to the track Abe was following me and I had a little fun on the twisty onramp, only to remember that the GN doesn't corner like the RX-7!! I figured Abe would catch up in the straights though!

So we get there and Tech in and Josh (Candy-Cane LS1 FC) happened to pull up at the same time. Stupid me forgot about my helmet on the roof when I moved forward and it took a nasty spill. Time for a repaint!

Anyways, my goal for the night was a 15.99 so I can claim "15's" and also because when John had his RX-7 (Gold FB S) out he went a 16.0 something.

I started off with a 16.33 (beating my previous best of a 16.34) and just kept wacking a tenth off every run. The autocross tires I have hook nicely! My best 60' was a 2.15, which is better then my 14-second cop car!

Eventually I ended up at a 16.07 @83. Figuring that was good enough to beat John (and I really hope it is, I have no idea what he ran! ) I wanted to try Josh's car. Josh hasn't drag raced much. He started with a 13.03 and progressively made it to a 12.577@112.

So I jumped in his car (I've autocrossed it before) and tried it. 12.577@112. I am not kidding! Josh took my car down and laughed at it for being so slow I ran Josh's 3 more times. Run #2 resulted in pseudo-missed 2nd gear (I thought I missed it, so I tried it again, and it was in, I was being cautious since it's not my car).

Run #3 resulted in a new best for the car, a 12.53@112 and was against Abe's GN, who ran an 11.514@118!!! We pulled back around so I hot-lapped the RX-7 and ran a 12.45@112!! That's on his autocross tires with stiff sidewalls! It's on the limiter going through the traps, so I'm going to try to talk Josh into a taller set of tires (and DR's at that) to get it to trap 114/115. I feel the car definitely has a 12.2 in it, maybe even an 11.99 at awesome weather...

So calling the 12.45 a success I jumped back into my car, man did it feel SLOW after that!! It took a few runs just to figure out what I was doing again and by then the track was dead. So 16.07 was it's best (and I really, REALLY hope that's faster then John's!!).

My RX-7 with me cutting another .0xx light!
