Default BHR Ignition Upgrade

One of the problems that the RX8 experiences is durability problems with the stock ignition coils. The consequence of this is an OEM coil that doesn't perform under even naturally aspirated conditions and can fail in as few as 25,000 miles.

Black Halo Racing has developed a solution in the form of a plug and play ignition upgrade!

The BHR Ignition Upgrade utilizes the Yukon LS2 coil which is an upgraded version of the standard LS2 ignition coil. These coils are capable of operating at the OEM dwell settings but provide additional benefits with dwell increases. BHR does suggest dwell settings be set to 5ms for any application where you're running more than 300 grams/sec of airflow.

Our Ignition Upgrade is capable of producing 120 mA and 50,000 volts of output all the way to 9,500 RPM's which is much more than even some aftermarket coils.

Our coil system was developed on the back of real world testing including thousands of driven miles and various track sessions in the hot Phoenix summer while handling boost pressures as high as 14-16 PSI without any misfires or failures.

The coils are able to be plugged directly into the stock wiring harness utilizing a unique (patent pending) wiring harness. This, combined with a mounting bracket system that uses the stock bracket and mounting location yields a product that is complete drop in with no cutting, splicing, or hacking of your harness. The plug and play design allows you to return the vehicle to stock if necessary in the future.

Finally, it's all connected to your plugs using a custom length MSD 8.5mm set of plug wires and terminals designed for a factory fit and appearance.

The Ignition Solution is backed by BHR's no hassle 1 year warranty on all parts and is available for $485 including shipping to all 48 states.

International shipping is available upon request.

I wanted to inform everyone that we've satisified our pre-order list for the RX8 ignition upgrade so any new orders we take should have an approx. 2 to 3 week turn around time at the max. As we gain a surplus of parts and whole kits that turn around will fall to 2 to 3 days.

Right now, if you order a kit expect a 2 to 3 week turn around from the receipt of payment.
