Question 1984 GSL-SE Caliper Questions

First, both the front and rear rotors are single piston, one side, YUCK, even the old English cars used at least two pistons. Any suggestions for better calipers?

Second, I was able to open up the front caliper wide enough for new pads but the rear caliper was a problem. I could not press the piston back, they do work so I know they are not stuck. I could not use new pads, had to put the old pads back in for now.

Is there a trick or special tool for those rear calipers?

The rear calipers have to be turned back in there is a couple small notches on the piston that a tool fits into and turned clockwise ( the tool is usually like a small block or sometimes a pair of needle nose pliers will work)

^ To what he said, you can download a copy of the factory shop manual here: http://www.wright-here.net/cars/rx7/manuals.html

The 1984 & 1985 editions will have your GSL-SE model covered.

I have two now, I just did not read them first. You can lead a dumb-arse to water but he may run away so he don't get wet.
