can you comment on the helical vs kaaz?

i've been using a helical for autox (i've always thought it was best).

The Torsen works fine for Autocross until you start lifting one of the rear wheels (combination of high G's and spring rates), then it becomes almost worthless. The Kaaz continues to put power to both wheels even when one is lifted.

There is a noticeable improvement in throttle on predictability and corner exit bite with the Kaaz.

are you using a rear bar? i noticed all kinds of weirdnesss with a rear bar (hopping on braking..), so i just ditched it. i wouldnt think you'd pull the inside tire without one.

Hey Dan! This build thread is great. Just remember, imitation is the highest form of flattery (http://hamfistracing.blogspot.com/20...a-rx-7-r1.html).

Can you post your most recent dyno plot?

Thanks!

Just checking in again. Hope you and the car are doing well since GA. Any word if your butt-dyno is properly calibrated (370whp was your guess)?

I guess I'll resurrect this thread as Tinkerbell is coming out of retirement. I am Dan's long time co-driver, co-builder of the car. I am now prepping it for the Ultimate Street Car Association events sponsored by Optima.

Many Changes have occurred since Dan last posted, but most noted are the change to a Borg Warner 8374 internally gated turbo on a Full Race manifold. We also widened the front fenders to allow us to run 315/30-18's on all 4 corners and a C-West front bumper and more aggressive splitter capped things off. We got the weight of the car down to around 2520 lbs in it's last SSM configuration.

Now, much of that gets undone as we add creature comforts back, ditch the huge rear wing and bolt some BFG Rivals on. I'll add some photos of the progress below.

Brian
