Ok. Don after reviewing your logs I see several issues you had. This log was at 1pm that should be the second pass but may have been the first.
1. there was a boost issue. Your pass shows good peak boost but seems to come on very slow. 1st gear only hit 15.5psi then you let off the throttle and slowly shifted at 7400. By the time you went back on the throtle the rpms went back down to 4500! 2nd gear peaked at 20.5psi but again you shifted "slowly" at 6500 then rpms droped back to 4400! 3rd gear boost peaked at 23.2psi! but again you slowly shifted at 6600prm. 4th gear peaked at 23.6psi!!! Boost was not held steady on any gears but was up and down. If you were to have pulled each gear to 8k and made the shifts quick it would have been completly differant. Now on your next log at 2pm had serious boost issues. You did MUCH better on pullying the rpms closer to redline. However boost stayed low and didnt hit 1 bar in first gear. 2nd gear hit 1bar not until 6800rpms?? 3rd gear not until 6500, then boost was down and up peaking around 1.1bars. So over all there was something going on on that second pass. Not sure if you changing the transition points did that or what. I would go back to the settings Ray made and not change them. |

I know this is off subject kinda but I think their street car rules should change. The winner of the street event had a full blown race car with lexan windows. The so called muffler was just a 3" long piece in his dump pipe. He probably didn't have any working lights, or turn signals. Absolutely no one else in the street class had anything similar to this.
I am glad my friend sam took his winnings at the last IFO down in LA by beating him off the light. Serves him right. Maybe I should get a RX3, backhalf it. Put a jerico in it with a PP turbo 20b. Run it with the widest ET streets and run it in the street class so I can slaughter the class... Last edited by Bryan@BNR; 06-02-2009 at 10:43 AM.. |

I just emailed Cliff Walace, one of the IFO guys about this. He read my post on the other forum and contacted me. He wanted to know why the track workers screwed up by pairing us the way they did. I may be getting $$ for semi or r/u spot for the mistake.... I gave him my thoughts on Darren (white diamond star). I bet he drives it to the grocery store all the time... Whats even worse is he was quicker than the cars in the outlaw or whatever they called the top class. So he could have still took home the $$ if he raced in the riught class.. |

well the payout was less for the quicker class. I won those 2 first races by not missing shifts. I'll be at the next one ready for some real good 60's. I'll probably blow up next time hehehe.
It is piss poor class running a race car in the street class. Its makes both the IFO and the racer look like total cheats. You don't bring a gun to a sword fight. I bet you that DSM was also running either 100% methenol or alky as well. Those fuel lines were huge. Last edited by Bryan@BNR; 06-02-2009 at 01:43 PM.. |

This is what IFO had to say:
The white DSM has been racing IFO for years now and has always been within the Street class rules. yes, it's towed to the events and not daily driven, but those are not requirements for the IFO street class. Relaxed rules and tech is one reason IFO has grown year after year while all other Import drag circuits have either filed for bankruptcy (nopi), bailed out on the import dividision (NHRA) or reduced their schedule locations (BOTI) Don't expect the rules to change any time soon. Tedious little rules on interior, glass, wipers, etc for such small gaines is not worth the tech trouble and chance for racers to protest over a few lbs. Oem frame, muffler, and dot tires are close enough and have worked for the series since 2001. He's a lot faster this year because of the new turbo setup/sponsorship, not because of the interior/glass weight reduction. Sounds like Darren (dsm car) has set his car up with these rules in mind were the rest of us are just local racers. I guess it sounds fair? |

Haha. That was what I was going to do with your RX3. To be honest I need a good truck. I think the REPU I would need more than another car. My syclone just won't tow much.
Mike. I think we should have all said we would not race with the eclipse in our class. If there isn't any competition, IFO wouldn't have been interesting at all... Then they would probably be pushed to move him up to the class he needs to be in. Last edited by Bryan@BNR; 06-02-2009 at 08:39 PM.. |

This is what people complain about in AutoX all the time, like why did my non stock seat or steering wheel move me up a classs. IMO rule are there to be followed if you break them then you move up a class. Either build your car to that classes rules or find a new class. Doesn't matter if it effects performance very much, alot of little increases equal a big increase, if that makes since.

I will go back and look at the first log but the biggest issue I saw was the way early and very slow shifts.

good news for me. IFO agreed there was a mistake in the 2nd round elimination and I was paired wrong so they are sending me a check for semi final payout. Better than nothing although I most likely would have been runner up..
