Only thing left for me to do now is a complete detailing job just before I leave. Other than fixing a leaky trans output shaft seal, I didn't have any projects going on the FC this winter.

Yesterday I finished all of my usual "pre-DGRR inspections & preventive maintenance checklist" items. Dropped in a set of fresh plugs and did an oil & filter change, so the FC is ready to roll.

Also changed the oil and put some new pads in the front.

Spoke too soon!

This happened:

On the way to work, driver side power window works perfect. Leave to go home, window doesn't budge. Weird. Took the door panel off, checked the switch, all is good. Checked power to the motor, all is good. Pull the motor, plug it in, and it works! Great (fuck). Pulled the inner door panel and voila! The cable on the regulator got bound up somehow.

Now, let me tell you what a massive PAIN IN THE ASS it is to re-wrap the cable onto the pulley, then get it all squared away in the little plastic carrier thing. I needed 4 hands, but was on my own. With the sheer power of determination (and fading daylight) I finally got it all together correctly. Put the inner panel and motor back on, key switch on, and VICTORY!!!!

Next time I'll just buy another assembly. Looked it up, only like $50. Sheesh.

just taking the door apart is a pain in the ass... I hate interior panels, I always seems to break shit when I deal with them.... Park the car until DGRR so you dont break more stuff on it!! I am driving as little as possible until then...

Unfortunately I don't have that option right now. I gave my Speed3 to my mother-in-law to trade in on a new Avalon. She totaled her 2009 in November, and has been driving my father in laws Tundra, and got tired of that shit. So, I offered to sacrifice my Speed3 for her, IF they pay for a new engine in my Grandpa's old Camry (been sitting 2 years), so I can start to DD it.

Well, the Camry goes to a friends' shop this weekend for the heart transplant, and I have to DD the RX-8 until its ready.

I used to DD the 8, but I don't like to anymore. Not because I am worried about it or anything, but because I'm trying to keep it minty.

You have a choice!

Choose to find a shitbox. I keep finding them and selling them, or giving them to family members. Lol.

The Camry will stay though, it is a legacy car.
