Mine is an 05, and the ride is BETTER with the tein s techs, and the other two 8s I looked at are 04s and the rears are completely gone. Bump stops shredded as well. Its really surprising that a newer car would have a failure like this. I mean, a 20+ year old fc, yeah. but not an 8 year old car...

Thanks man. Well, at this rate... about as fast as Kyle and Chris can push the damn thing. I need to stop putting in the late nights on this FB and get to work on the 'vert. Tonight I prep some of the irons, tomorrow we paint the housings/front cover, work will continue and I'll build the engine this Sunday. Friday night the thing comes in the shop while Dave's away so monday morning I can start work on her. She'll get out of her own way, I expect 250+ @ the wheels.

Speaking of the FB how is everything coming along? Waiting on parts or just sorting out shit?

Chassis and ECU is completely wired except for the fuel pump that I'm waiting on. That's including the 61pin connector Engine harness not done yet. Mani's are on, fuel system is pretty much mounted, the Gaby Skern rails didn't fit in the primaries, had to grind and repaint some of the lower mani, they're in now. Got the pedastal in but need to source new o-rings for it and Greedy doesn't supply them, so we'll have to go through McMaster. Started work on the mounting the coils after everyone left for the night, figured I do all the cutting and grinding and loud shit with my ipod and ear bud deals cranked and no-one around to annoy with the noise. Tomorrow The Raychem should be in so if I can stay out of the dyno room (pretty much all day today) I should be able to get all the sensors mounted, and start on the engine harness. It's all laid out, just needs to be wrapped and terminated. I suspect the trigger kit will give me some issues, but it's not a big deal... I'll probably end up taking my plasma cutter to the AC braket ...which reminds me, is your AC charged?

So everything except the little stuff should be done by the weekend. Then it's time to chat heat exchangers

Oh, and I'm prepping you that I'm going to ride you hard about AN'ing all the coolant lines

OK sweet sounds like lots of progress so far. the A/C is charged and still has R12 in it when the time comes for the A/c to be refilled I may be able to get my hands on a few cans to fill it. Should I look for the other style A/C compressor/mount?
Why A/N all the coolant lines vs just a few?

Nope, they will all need to be modified. This one wil probably bew the easiest. I'll get a pic up in here tomorrow for your viewing pleasure when it's all mounted up.

Cuz it's what the cool kids are doing

I like AN'ing all the lines. On the rear iron for the 'vert I'll take that big 5/8" nipple off and tap it to 1/2" NPT, the fitting on the rear of the iron gets drilled out and tapped 1/4" NPT and adapter fittings go on. it just makes things easier when it's time to come apart. I know, I know... you only pop the hood to change the oil... you're one of the lucky ones. I would definately AN the upper and lower rad hoses though. Weld fittings onto the rad, the lower fitting on the WP housing, and build something for the upper. No leaks, no adapters, do it once and forget it. I tried the silicone adapters and hardlines and was constantly plagued by small little leaks. Didn't spill a drop all year after I did the AN thing last winter.

Lol - I was thinking that when I boxed it up.. didn't have any o-rings handy that would fit it or I would have tossed them in. How badly did I butcher your last name on that address?

Yeah... I'll txt you the correct spelling. Don't feel bad, there has only been 1 person outside of family that has gotten it right, and he was coached. Telemarketers call and say, "Hi, can I please speak with Mr. Treffff, Mr. Treeeff, Mr. Trevv... Is Brian there?"

So... challenge to mount the QuickSilver coils under the manifold accepted.....

BAM!!!

I have been collecting parts since I bought my RX-8 in January, in preparation for DGRR. I only lack the exhaust, which I am picking up next weekend.

-Tokico D-Spec Struts
-Tein S-Tech springs
-Agency Power sway bars and endlinks (front adjustable)
-New window beltline seals
-Mazda OEM front splashguards
-2009 Mazda RX-8 factory wheels
-RE Amemiya Super Dolphin Tail catback exhaust.

Can't. Wait.
