The red tops suck... the yellow top is where it's at. [EDIT]: I'm not completely sure how it works, but the yellow optima is designed for people with heavy sound systems, and people that tend to drain their batery often... I have abused the shit out of my battery and it still works great. [/Edit]

I hope not to jinx anything, but I've had one ever since my old fc vert and I love it. I would leave the stereo on for 4 hours, leave the lights on for 30 min, leave the car KOEO overnight... pretty much do whatever the fuck I want and it ALWAYS starts... fucking ALWAYS.

So, I dunno what you're talking bout.... mush have bought the wrong battery?

It doesn't seem like it takes much A over time to kill these bitches. I dunno. I'm not about to reset my stereo setting everytime I drive the car, nor am I about to leave it disarmed. Whatever, I'll figure something out. Maybe a quick plug in for a trickle charger.

I love how people jump all over the Optima's. They did an awesome job marketing those things for sure.

Gotcha. The intercooler MAY need to go away which wouldn't be a bad thing. Sell it and make some cash. We'll have to see when we mock everyything up. You've got the dual oil-coolers already yes? Can you monitor oil temps with your PFC or no.... no datalogit right?

No doubt man. I gotta lead on a rear, if it falls through I'm going to buy a new 4.3 rear. In the fall I'm doing my car before anyone elses....... after clients of course

Nice. The only problem is the super sexy billet hold down that I bought was machined specifically for the 75/25 series. I could always move that over to the truck, except I think that's running the 34 series.... sigh. I dunno. I may find a dealer and try to swap the fucker out for a yellow top. If they won't be good about it, and I bought the thing about a year ago, then fuck them. I'll check out that Deka. Is that a gel cell, dry top, no fumes when charging battery? Got the thing mounted in the passenger bin

No, the red one is the standard starting battery. The yellow is a deep cycle that is designed to be able to be brought back from the dead with no issues. The battery shouldn't die if left unattended for a few days though. It's not that I bought the wrong battery, it's that the battery pretty much blows.

actually, if you look closely at the pics here:

http://www.rx7store.net/Vmount_Inter...ntercooler.htm

thats there greddy FMIC replica intercooler that has had the end tanks rewelded....
and i have a real greddy FMIC lol

so if those bobos can do it i dont see why we cant do it better

and no i dont have duals yet, its number 1 on my list as of right now. though

and no the PFC cant read oil temps..however ive been told that you see on the PFC a significant drop in your coolant temps when you have duals compared to a single

hey im in no rush, i would much rather see you get yours running then working on my car that is running already...besides...way i see it, the longer i wait, the more money i get to save up for it

and btw on the subject of batteries..at least for the FD, nothing beats the westco miata battery

small enough to fit perfectly in the tiny rear storage bins, yet has some decent CCA...more then enough to start up a rotary...and ive left my radio and rad fans on for a couple hours and havent had any issues starting the car back up

best thing about it though, is if you look hard enough online(like i did ) you can get it for 100 bucks shipped to your door

Nice, yeah, there's something to be said about not having to make it easy to make a profit. Plus the FD has alot more brackets and whatnot in the bay for mounting. THe FC has nothing, I had to build my own frame from scratch.

Yup, with so much heat being taken out of the engine by the oil, the cooler that it, the cooler the coolant will be.

Good, 'cuz I'm on borrowed time right now So much backed up it's retarded and no time to get it done in. Everytime I think I have a day off, I get called in or something else needs to be done. Like yesterday - went in @ 5:30am to deal with my side shit, everything was going perfect, ready to leave @ 11:30 and spend the day doing my shit. Instead I tossed in and didn't get home until ~12 hours later. 12 hours that I thought I had to get my shit done dissappeared..... Brian was pissed.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do about this shit. I'm liking the Deka idea, I'll have to check out dimensions, the westco I love, but I don't think I can use the tray I have, would have to build one.

I dunno, I'm also going to try a 2 day trickle and see if I can't wake that POS optima up.

Yup, looks like alot of that shit got cleaned up too, kinda defeats the point of that thread I think.... isn't it there to point and laugh at all the fuckwits nutswingers who thing that an 18X22 -q3409i50983745 offset will fit the front and that -55* camber is fine for tire life?

I would really like to have an all drifter event, hype it up sooooooo much that EVERY LAST ONE OF THOSE FANBOI'S ATTENDS, and then nuke it. I hate thier attitude. One of the little fuckers actually told me, "move over old man, new generation coming through," when I pointed out how some analrangers 12"widfe rims wouldn't fit in the rear.
