nope.. it is a basestock 3 oil... Basestock 3/4 oil

basestock 3 is highly refined dino oil (still just dino oil) basestock 4 is synthetic oil

IN the US in order to be a synthetic oil you only have to have 18% basestock 4 mixed with basestock 3 oil in order to qualify.

Mobl 1 has 20% basestock 4 oil..

in otherwards it like midgrade gas.. u pay extra for nothing..

ELF/Total and Amzoil (not sure yet on Royal purple) is a PURE 100% basestock 5 oil (ultra high refined synthetic oil.

food for thought the next time u buy your "synthetic" oil for 4.00 a bottle and buy it at WALMART remember your paying for the name not the product..

PREMIUM oil is sold at a PREMIUM price and not in a supermarket.

Bah, synthetic is for worry warts (in rotaries).

I use Mobil One Synthetic in the Jeep and the Mazda3.

I hate discussions on oil, they never go well, and everyone feels their opinion is the best.

true oil will always be a battle about preference all I can do is offer the facts and my opinion and be done with it.

and I just use synthetic in all my cars because I feel it protects better and for the price why not.

There is also a national shortage on Mobil 1 oil. If you shop at Advance you'll see a flyer prorating a previous discount that was intended for Mobil products to go toward any other synthetic in the store.

Exactly. It might be great stuff, but for $40 for 5 liters, no thanks. I can get 12 quarts of GTX for that. Granted, it may not be the best oil, but it's plenty good enough. In 100,000 miles you'll be spending $1000 for oil changes if you use the Total stuff. I'd much rather spend 1/2 that and have a perfectly fine engine. Your compression might be 3 psi higher, but I can live with that.

well when u drop 6K or more on a motor spending 40.00 ever couple months to change the oil is a small price to pay for added protection..

remember it cost money to play the game..

how much do u want to spend?

Now dont get me wrong I have no problem with conventional oil.. if I used it I would use GTX thats my preference.. HOWEVER IMO the synthetic oil is a better oil and its not that much more in my eyes.
