New member from SC
I am very new to the rotary scene. I have evolved from Mustang 5.0's back in the day to Civic's and now to my first FD. I basically bought this car with all the mods already done to it.
Pettit Racing in West Palm Beach did a Street Port (12k on engine), ported polished ceramic coated blueprinted high flow twin turbos. 12lbs of boost, full Greddy exhaust, K&N air filters, Pettit BOV, Pettit Power Pulley Kit, Pettit Suspension kit, entire cooling system upgraded by them as well, which includes new water pump, air separator tank, 185 fan switch, 180 thermostat, new hoses, Huge Koyo polished radiator. Rally racing clutch and flywheel (transmission and clutch have less than 9000 miles). That's probably enough for right now ;-). The one thing I hate are the wheels so I have ordered new Black Konig Backbone 18's which will be in this week. The interior is very clean (though I am missing the map door cover on the drivers door panel). I do the warmup and cooldown procedure Pettit recommends...I run 93 (no ethenol) and I add their fuel lubricant. I look forward to learning more about how to maintain my car and also make small upgrades. |

Welcome to the forum! Are you planning on running an aftermarket ECU soon? Another mod or so, and the stock ECU just won't cut it. Just watching out for ya

I live in Seneca about 10 min from Clemson University. I will have to do a little reading on an aftermarket ECU, thanks for the tip. Also, do a lot of you guys use turbo timers? I plan to hit the DGRR car show/even in a few weeks. Should be a blast!!

yeah, a few too many mods and the stock ECU doesn't cut it, and the OEM wastegate is tapped and you start to get bad boost spikes. as far as ECU's. . . there are a great many. if you are staying with the stock twins, a PFC is your entry plug and play ECU and will work. Then as you go up in the price range, you have more features available for tuning. Haltec PS series, Life Racing RX, MoTeC M600 (in order of price). Not enough space in one post to elaborate as to what and why, but it at least gives you info to start off on. I'll be heading up from FL with a caravan of rotaries for DGRR. Just look for the Asian guy with red faded hair, and it'll be me. I've been for the past 4 years, easily hands down the best event stateside. |

I appreciate the info man. Yeah, an ECU will definitely be my next upgrade. I am looking forward to this event and taking my first ride on the Dragon's Tail!! I will be the 6 foot 2, 270 pound dude trying to squeeze in to his FD...you can't miss me, ha!! |

Awesome, DGRR is a blast! Take a good look at your tyres, you will need ones with plenty of life in them; the dragon is relentless and you dont want to put the confidence of your life in cheap or toasted rubber!

Nice. I like the stock look of your FD. I don't think those wheels are too offensive, either.
Last year at DGRR it seemed to me that people were arriving at a steady clip on both days. Thursday is really just a travel day with no real events, you'll be fine coming in on Friday. Might figure out your lodging before then though.

Welcome! Are those Zenetti Racing Matrix wheels? They look just like the ones I had on my Prelude several years ago.
