My issue is that I dont have the rubber boot on the shifter surround and I get the smell in the car that way. I may have been going a little over board when I said it was getting me high as well.

^^^if you replace them the smell will go away. Well, unless you have a bad exhaust leak like we had on the NA.

I replaced mine and as far as I know don't have an exhaust leak and it still smells like ass.

I know I should replace them, but I get kind of lazy sometimes when it comes to ordering parts. I have other priorities right now anyway, buying a house always cuts into the car fund.
