People!! Come on!! This thread is to congratulate the winners and hope some will post pics of the winning car so we could see what they look like... I really didn't want this thread to turn into, "I'm disappointed", "You could of done better", etc thread..
I'll say this again, YES, I understand the car show was ran like shit and some people aren't happy with how it was ran nor the results. Its unfortunate, I understand, and I'm aware and planning to improve. Please, stop complaining as this is why every year I debate about doing this event year after.... I thought it stopped last year as I was telling people how VERY few complained last year... Seriously, its been a rough month and I know it wasn't ran the way some of you liked it. Again, I know and trust it will be ran better... IF I decide to do it... as I'm NOW debating!

1st Gen. 1985 GSL-SE. #270. Ohio tag OURX7. Name: Brian Holmes. Columbus, Ohio.
And THANKS Phil for taking the time to say congrats to us. I don't think anyone else in the situation you were in would have followed through with the event at all. But, let's face it: You could have timed the conception a little better! Most everyone that shows up puts a great deal of time, effort, and income on these little penile extensions (rotary powered or not). I, for one, am quite appreciative of the validation, not necessarily the recognition, from people that share my passion for these little automotive gems. So I'll leave it at that! See you next year! God willing! Sincerely Yours, |

2nd gen 1st place show winner, 1989 RX-7 Turbo, Pete Morel, Elkton, MD. Here's a link to some photos of me running the dragon...
http://www.photoreflect.com/PR3/ViewAlbum.aspx?a=703477[/URL] I sincerely appreciate the recognition, but I'll be the first to admit I'm a bit perplexed as to why. While my car is a very nice example of a restored S5 turbo, I never considered it "show winner" quality. Guess I'm just a tougher judge. Anyway, it was a pleasure meeting all of you and I enjoyed all the conversations we shared about our common rotary powered obsessions! Kudos to Phil & all the volunteers who ran DGRR-X. Given the circumstances Phil (i.e., conception planning ), you ran a great event! Regards, Pete |

I was the judge of the 2nd generation cars. I did my best to dwendle down the best of the best inside and out FCs. If the interior wasnt finished or some things didnt coordinate, I didnt put them in front b/c of modifications. So don't take it personal if your car isnt 1/2/3 or mentioned. I am just picky about a nice, clean, well put together car so thats why the winner won .
