The engines are single rotor, just under 500CC displacement. Not too many of the parts can still be bought from Suzuki, except for the ones that swap out with other models (like the GT750 Water Buffalo), or where a dealer happens to have some NOS parts still sitting on his shelf. You can get almost anything you need from Sam at

I've had the pleasure of getting to know Sam personally over the years, dealing with him on pieces and parts (I've owned four of them), and gotten to see his inventory and museum (though he's currently still sorting everything out at his new location- and the museum is not a public affair). Sam has bought out all of the NOS engine units left in the USA and Europe from Suzuki backstock (he's long since sold them all), and buys out nearly any dealer he runs across to get all their RE5 parts. Check out his online catalog- tons of NOS, Repro and good used stuff. He's gots literally hundreds of RE5s, W2000s, two Van Veens, Suzuki and Hercules prototype bikes, and he's a virtual walking encyclopedia on all things Wankel when it comes to bikes, and some of the side stuff too (MAC-10s, Dolmar KMS4s, etc.).
The bikes are too much fun! Someone should really pick this up off Luis. Wish I would have seen this last time I visited him, but it was buried.
